We had a great time at this state park all the sites are worth seeing bathrooms are a little rough in some spots and they are pit toilets. Sites look close but we stayed in the cabin which is actually in the opposite direction of the camp sites. The cabin itself was very nice peice of property but needs a bit of upkeep as we had a few issues with well anything that involved water. The size of the cabin and being secluded made up for some of its down falls and it had air conditioning that while loud sometimes worked great
Definitely a great place to walk on a trail or get pictures the waterfall is my favorite part. Plenty of people and dogs are able to go on the trail as well. Be cautious taking smaller children due to the rocks it is easy to trip on some of the trails. The "bound bridge" is my most favorite part
Beautiful State Park with several different trails with varying distances! Trail options for those who are seeking an easy hike as well as for more advanced hikers. The suspension bridge is awesome as well.
Such a beautiful park. We took the Laurel Run Trail and it was magical, from the waterfall to balanced rock!
Dogs had a lot of fun..pretty scenery. Just remember, there's really not flat places to walk, can be rugged at some times. We went the weekend after Labor Day....this is the best time all around to vacation, especially when ur child free, there's hardly any traffic/ people.
Good trails and places to picnic. Had a fun time catching a brown trout in the Creek. Saw some smallies and a largemouth chasing the rooster tail too. Very scenic with some great features such as balancing rock and Rainbow Falls.
Did a little light hiking, and quite a bit of trout fishing here while staying over at Raystown Lake Resort. It’s a beautiful area. Clean, well labeled, nice amenities. The ice mine is a cool spot too, be sure to read up on the history of it. Met some friendly fishermen and turned out we knew many of the same people, despite being four hours from home. Great time was had by all, ages 7-45. :)
The hike to the balancing rock was easy, but also adventurous. Along the way, there is a suspension bridge that is fun to walk across and a little waterfall to pause. Further down the road is the ice mine, which let's you cool off in the summer.
